CSMS # 63740037 - CBP Issues Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to Require Electronic Export Manifest for Rail Mode of Transportation U.S. Customs and Border Protection sent this bulletin at 01/14/2025 12:17 PM EST CSMS # 63740037 - CBP Issues Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to Require Electronic Export Manifest for Rail Mode of Transportation U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) today announced a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to enhance CBP’s information collection requirements for outbound rail cargo. The proposed will require Electronic Export Manifest (EEM) for outbound rail cargo. The rail EEM rule will enhance visibility of outbound rail cargo by requiring all outbound rail manifest be submitted to CBP prior to departure from the United States to foreign. Members of the public have until March 14, 2025, to comment on the proposed rule. Individuals wishing to comment on the proposed rule may access the Federal e-Rulemaking Portal at www.regulations.gov and follow the instructions for submitting comments.
